Juliette Levy is co-director of MX.digital and Associate Professor of History at the University of California, Riverside. Her research explores informal and pre-banking forms of finance and credit in Latin America. Her book “The Making of a Market: Credit, Notaries, and Henequen in Yucatan, 1850-1900” was published by Penn State University Press in 2012. She is working on a second book on early employee credit unions in Mexico. She has also created multiple online courses in History for the UC Innovative Learning Technology Initiative, and developed a learning game (http://digitalzombies.ucr.edu
) that introduces university students to information hierarchies and research methods. Her latest collaborative project is a mixed reality learning module that generates critical thinking and intellectual engagement for application in large scale lecture courses.
